Your-Couture

There are a couple of delightful ladies (Kate and Kathryn) who both understand and love the fashion and elegance of hand-made dresses.  They have set up a business called “Your Couture” and are getting their website up and running very shortly; but clearly they need images of their dresses for the site.

I managed to fit in their shoot last weekend, and although I am not a natural fashionista, I was very impressed with the quality and look of these (they are not paying me to say that!)  In many respects, photographing a beautiful product is simply a joy!

As I travelled to the house where the dresses are stored, there was no chance of a formal studio.  Therefore I took my 3 studio lights and my off-white canvas backdrop and set up in Kathryn’s sitting room.  A bit of creative thought, but in the end you have a proper studio effect and the control of the light is the same.  I know Patrick Lichfield used to use the corner of a garage for some of his best images; so there is really no excuse!
