A Freelance Commercial Photographer 2019
I’m writing this during Lock-down from the 2020 Coronavirus pandemic, and I have, at last, a little capacity to add a wee blog. Last year (2019) was a cracker – for many reasons. Not least of which is that I have linked with Mark Brightwell to make Photo Journey into a far bigger proposition (with more locations currently being added). However, what this has meant is that I am not able to spend as much time on my commercial photography marketing (such as blog writing!!) and there has been little down-time. But, I have had some extraordinary commercial shoots, in some incredible places, and I have photographed some totally inspirational people – some famous, some just brilliantly getting on producing amazing work. I cannot begin even to scrape the surface in this post (and some shoots will have their own blogs later on), but I just wanted to point out that although life as a freelance commercial photographer is sometimes overwhelming; that is usually always outweighed by the fun, satisfaction, and honesty that I have experienced. As I write this I know their will be free-lance photographers who have not survived the lock-down through lack of work/support – but for me, I’m managing to keep spirits high and positive things are on the horizon (don’t get me wrong, I could do with the income I haven’t earned to replace old or creaking kit, but that’s manageable!). But here are a few of images from shoots in 2019:
