HRH the Princess Royal

HRH Princess Anne and the Fishmongers’ Hall

My multi-faceted shoot at the Fishmongers’ Hall was incredibly interesting and exciting.  Just being in such a beautiful building is reward enough, but as well as photographing the “building” for marketing and records purposes, then heading to Billingsgate to photograph the new fish market, I was also the photographer present at one of the rare dinners that still plays out the customs from centuries ago when these senior livery companies were at the fore.  This dinner saw the Princess Royal in her role as one of the wardens of the company, and I was there to record the day.

I love the history and tradition of these places, and Fishmongers’ does it exquisitely – very proper and charming to boot.  I have been asked back to photograph another royal event next month – that promises to be just as interesting!
