Lidl Supermarkets – travelling the country in a day!
This was the maddest shoot I have done in a long time. Mad, purely because of the time-scales. Lidl were holding an event where their senior managers from stores across the regions were being briefed on changes at 3 locations: Runcorn, Leatherhead, and the Headquarters in Wimbledon. I had to get to all of them between 8:00 am and 5:00pm, which is not as straight-forward as it seems. It couldn’t be done car, so I had to travel by rail. And because much of the shoot was using “green-screen” (to photograph every manager for new marketing purposes) I had to carry my Elinchrom Ranger lights, backdrop stands, and the green backdrop. That, plus my camera gear, was heavy and bulky. But I am an adventurous type (and believe it or not, I turned down a photo-shoot with Hugh Grant for this!) so I took the commission.

The timings of rail travel meant that I had about an hour in each location – not long for half green-screen and half corporate scenarios. And it was hot last week!

Still, I like to be tested, and I hope it proved my dedication and ability!
