Corporate Photography – Nigeria

Once again, I found myself working in a tricky environment – this time for a different security company; gathering images for their marketing, client briefs, and annual report.  I’ve spent some time in Nigeria in the past, but I had never been to port Harcourt, or some of the less desirable neighbourhoods in Lagos – namely Apapa Docks.  Nigeria is a country where just carrying a camera can get you into deep trouble with a twitchy policeman, or even just a member of the public who takes offence that you might “snap” him.  Fortunately, most of the work was in the different locations of the company, and although we spent a great deal of time either in traffic, or waiting for internal flights, we did manage to get to all the locations in Lagos, Port Harcourt and Abuja.

My usual technique of carrying all my gear in a single bag paid off again – a couple of difficult moments are easier to deal with when you can get your hands on your bag before someone else does!
