British Exploring Patron’s Evening with Prince Andrew

The Royal Geographic Society hosted the British Exploring Society’s Patron’s Evening this week.  It was a terrific event and great to meet up with so many friends and fellow explorers who were with me on the  Arctic and Amazon expeditions.  Prince Andrew started procedings by talking to many of the leaders and explorers, and then gave a talk on the importance of the British Exploring Society.

It was a terrific talk – he is very well informed on wjhat the society is up to, but he also referenced many of the points he had just heard from leaders and explorers.  Very uplifting.  We then went though to the lecture room for some presentations on the expeditions and the incredible Georgie, who was a leader on the Amazon expedition last year, won best leader – Brilliant news – well done Georgie!
