Arval UK

A new client for me, thanks to the brilliant creatives at Synergy Creative in Bristol, is Arval (the car leasing company).  Always difficult to know what to expect when you are shooting on site (over 800 employees at their main HQ just outside Swindon) and photographing employees!  Sometimes employees have been coerced into the shoot, but the guys and girls at Arval were brilliant (I understand the company has an excellent retention record for staff, and you could sense that).

The idea was to spend 2 days in the offices photographing people at work and giving a sense of the place – a happy and pleasing place.

The weather as always plays a big part in these shoots and although it wasn’t permanently sunny, when it did come out we used it to good effect and there was usually enough ambient light for me to use that to a greater extent rather than deploying my trusty speed lights too often!  The great thing was that the building had brilliant white ceilings, so bouncing flash was helpful from time to time.
