Twenty Objects

Possibly my favourite publication this year was the release of “A History of the Fishmongers’ Company in Twenty Objects”.  I worked in collaboration with “Re-Shape Invent” – a London based, ideas led, graphic design consultancy.  The brief was to photograph 20 of the most significant objects owned by the Fishmongers’ Livery Company in order to produce a very high quality 48 page booklet.

A really lovely idea, not least because some of the objects are so important.  A lovely blog by Re-shape Invent is here.  There is of course the 1955 Pietro Annagoni portrait of the Queen (the most famous portrait of HM) that was commissioned by the Fishmongers’ Company, but also:

The Objects and Paintings were all photographed in situ.  Then came the tricky part of re-adding shadows to the objects and picture frames once they put onto the publisher’s preferred grey backdrop….. A really interesting project both photographically and in the intricacies of the post-production!
