The Mercers’ Company Shoot

The Worshipful Company of Mercers is the most senior of the 110 livery companies in London (A mercer was someone who ran a shop or a market stall; right up to the finest silks and fabrics that were imported) and is over 700 years old.  It owns quite a portfolio of property around London (as you would expect near Covent Garden).  I was asked to come on board to provide images to refect the Hall itself, and the properties around that it owns.  A roving brief, and also to capture the “Mercer’s Maid” that you will see on many buildings around the areas where the Mercers have retained an interest.  These old livery companies are truly fascinating.
