Catching my tail…….12 shoots in 1 blog!
The last 2 months have been the busiest of my life. Which is good. Sort of. I have been travelling around the country on numerous shoots. Building portfolios and earning money is a must for any free-lancer. Getting your face out there, being available when needed, and producing what the client expects…… But, boy, I had no idea that the early part of 2016 was going to be quite so busy. But, just before I head off to Peru for a month, I think i can look back with a bit of satisfaction.
The biggest gig was a month of shooting around the country for Lidl Supermarket’s promotional and recruiting images. This was a multi-faceted shoot of the Lidl workforce, right through all of the main roles, to tight dead-lines and structured programmes to make sure we captured everything. The images are now spread across Lidl’s website at Lidl Careers. (a separate blog to follow) I also launched my new book – Light & Life in the Middle Hills in London with Joanna Lumley and at Longleat House with Lord and Lady Weymouth. I was interviewed on Radio 4, I have photographed the Princess Royal twice, Prince Edward, Joanna Lumley again, Sir Steve Redgrave, the Victory Services Club, Fishmongers Company twice, Welbeck College Annual Inspection with Peter Hennessy, most of the staff of the Schroders Bank in Luxembourg…and a few fillers too!
I said “Sort of” at the top of this blog….about it being good to be busy. The down-side is that I now realise to continue at this pace, I need to employ someone to help with the administration (and occasional 2nd shooter). No idea how that works, but I have a month in Peru to contemplate it!
