The Gurkha Welfare Trust

You may know that I have done work for the Gurkha Welfare Trust (GWT) for the last few years.  They are now starting to add those ex-Gurkhas, who have moved to the UK but still need welfare, to their workload.  The aim will be to photograph some of the more elderly and vulnerable in their new houses in the UK  and to document their situations (not easy for them or communities in many respects) so should be a fascinating project.  Watch this space.

In the meantime, a portrait of the Director of the GWT, Colonel (retired) William Shuttlewood OBE, was needed for their annual report; despite carrying two flash units and my triggers, a relatively simple “Rembrandt” lighting was all that was needed for a very natural feel…..
