South West Cornwall

The weather forecast was great so we took off to Cornwall (Charlestown and Fowey) for a 3 day weekend.  Charlestown is beautiful; and with the tall ships (soon to be sold!!) in the harbour, a great place for some early morning photography.  I also had one morning of stormy clouds before the sun arrived, and I got soaked with big old wave over my knees – just getting my camera and tripod out of the way in time!  Worth it though!

The image I took was pretty dark, but I was using my 14-24 f2.8, and the bulbous lens is very difficult at small apertures to keep “drip-free” at the best of times – so with the spray and salt, tricky….but I persevered (and had a thorough lens clean back at the house).

Fowey, if you haven’t been, is beautiful – the streets were just a delight, but sadly hard to photograph from a vantage point to get the harbour.

Great to finally get to the Eden Project too – fascinating!
