Lt Gen Sir Rob Fry hosting

Not quite what was expected, but a good day in any case!

Last week was going to be really exciting as I had been asked to photograph the Duchess of Cornwall in her role as Patron-in-Chief of the Victory Services Club near Marble Arch in London.  Sadly, because of unexpected events, she was unable to attend.  Big disappointment for the staff and everyone who had put in a great deal to prepare.  However, the event still went on (as it should) and HRH was represented by the Lord Mayor.  She was a total star and a very lovely person to boot.  She did a wonderful job and all the old soldiers who came to the event seemed to really enjoy the event.

Photographically, it was darkish in parts of the club, but I used the Nikon’s capable sensors to good effect again and felt confident shooting at over 3000 ISO.

The variety of shoots I am getting is great for keeping you on your toes, and helps narrow down kit requirements at every level.  I just need to sort out my gear for the Arctic in the summer………
