A Heck of a Trip! Nepal Commercial Photography 2014

Wow, I have just realised it has been a while since I updated the blog here on my site; but it is for good reason!  I have been in Nepal again – this time shooting for both Kadoorie (a Hong Kong based charity who build infrastructure and electricity in the most remote parts of Nepal) and the Gurkha Welfare Trust in preparation for the G200 events this year (celebrating 200 years of the association of Gurkhas and the British Crown)

I was extremely lucky at the start of my Nepal venture because I was provided with a helicopter for 2 days in order to get to some fairly remote areas and cover as much of the country as possible.  In order to gain the best images, I was connected to the helicopter by harness and opened the door; stood on the skids and shot away.  At some stage we crossed a mountain ridge at roughly 6000 metres – that was some altitude to be in a helicopter.

Once that was complete, I headed by foot and LandRover into the hills for a few days to photograph some of the amazing faces and people out there.  Now as I write this, I can’t wait to get back out there in a few days time for the photoJourney trip!
