The Queen arriving at the State Rooms of the Royal Hospital, Chelsea

London Calling….

I was in London again for a couple of days this week with two significant events: The Pageant for the Gurkha 200th anniversary year, and some formal portraits of the wardens of the Fishmongers’ Company.

The Pageant was simply a brilliant event, and symbolised all that is great about the relationship between the Brigade of Gurkhas from Nepal and the British Crown.  The Fishmongers’ Company is also a terrific institution; steeped in history and ceremonial style; with a very long relationship with the Royal Family.

In all I reckon that, including the Sultan of Brunei, I photographed 6 HRHs in 2 days. It has been a very enjoyable time – pageantry and tradition mixed with intense photographic activity….the perfect mix!
