Joanna Lumley at the BBC

The lovely thing about my relationship with the Gurkha Welfare Trust is that occasionally they ask me to shoot somewhere that is not in Nepal.  On Wednesday, I was in London to photograph Joanna at Broadcasting House.  She was on the 6th floor recording the Radio 4 Appeal (to be broadcast in January) on behalf of the Gurkha Welfare Trust.

So, although it was quite a small studio, the location was kind of fun, and the Trust also asked if I could provide some video too, to help with their advertising of the event.  The great thing about my Nikon D4 is its video capability, so switching from stills to video was simple enough (as long as you understand the differences and the settings required, and you have a tripod!) and capturing the audio is a whole new skill that I now can employ relatively quickly and easily. (And it looks great!)

Once the recording was done, we had the opportunity to do some very “gun and run” portraits too.

Always great fun working with Joanna – such a pleasure to be around!
