IGO Adventures – NW05° Moroccan Challenge

October 2017 saw Morocco loom onto the horizon with the IGO Adventures latest challenge in the incredible mountains of the Moroccan Atlas range.  The disciplines this time were Mountain Biking, Orienteering, Kayaking, and trekking.  We had a brilliant mix of talent and fitness from a group of guys and girls who just gelled so well together – that always makes the photography more enjoyable!

The day we arrived to the camp at Terre Des Etoiles was hot, hot, hot, so acclimatising was a priority – not just for the competitors but for me too!  Lugging around 2 heavy camera bodies and the required lenses was going to be tough going over the adventure stages, so the 2 days in country getting used to the bikes etc was important.

Then the adventure started – heading for 4 days across the mountain ranges, testing mind and body…. but everyone making it the finish at Oukaimeden; 2nd highest peak in Morocco for the prize giving, entertainment from some brilliant local musicians, and a fire-light dinner – with the competitors families also at the finish, the evening was terrific!
