Fashion Shoot – London
Kate & Kathryn design and sell their own dresses, and I photographed the beautiful Emelie wearing some of the collection at various locations around London. Kathryn attended, and I was assisted by Sebastian Bober who was providing light with his Jinbei DC-1200 portable set-up; quite impressive.
We started around some of the beautiful squares north of Hyde Park. The houses and railings provided a discrete, yet formal setting. Some of the Mews in London are beautiful.
There is so much development going on, it’s nice to find a street that doesn’t have scaffolding at every third house!
We moved to Westminster Bridge for the final shot, but to be honest, the residential streets suit this type of photography.
Things to consider when doing this sort of shoot:
1. Make-up artist – you are not in the studio, so someone keeping an eye on hair and make-up, as well as the fall of the dress (I can’t concentrate on all of these at once!)
2. Changing room – you need to have somewhere for the model to change
3. Admin and Planning – There are a number of moving parts to this sort of shoot, so it’s important to recce the locations and have a solid plan, with fall-back options.
4. Water and food – Good to keep hydrated in the hottest part of the day in London!
