Turbo-Portraits in Nepal
I ended up with a free day in Kathmandu following our photoJourney trip, and one of the European families living there (and knowing I was in Town) asked if I could meet at a central location and photograph some family groups for some of the other ex-pats living in Kathmandu.
I was very lucky to have Tom Falkenburg (one of the photographers who came out on photoJourney with me – www.tomfalkenburg.com) who was brilliant and incredibly helpful through the day as my glamorous assistant, and it was needed, as we had 5 families with children of various ages; not a brilliant day in terms of ambient light; and about an hour for each group.
This all made for a very exciting and demanding day using wide apertures and speed light set-ups. Each family ended up with about 40 fully processed images, and here are some of the results:
